We’re looking for a Perishables Operations Specialist to join our Operations team at Perth Airport, supporting the seamless movement of temperature-controlled cargo in a busy and challenging environment.

The Role
 

As a Perishables Operations Specialist, you’ll play a key role in our high-performing perishables team.

This is a hands-on operational role where collaboration, adaptability, and accuracy are essential.

You’ll be responsible for coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring every consignment meets customer and regulatory requirements — often under tight timeframes.
 

Key Responsibilities:
 


* Coordinate international transport bookings, maximising unit optimisation


* Prepare, validate, and distribute export documentation for temperature-controlled perishable cargo


* Monitor shipment progress, proactively resolve issues, and support customer service outcomes


* Ensure accurate cost allocation and customer invoicing


* Prepare customer quotations and support commercial outcomes


* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders


* Maintain accurate and timely updates in operational IT systems


* Identify opportunities to improve operational performance and service delivery

 

About You
 

You’re someone who enjoys being relied upon and stepping up when it counts.

You’re calm under pressure, detail-focused, and motivated by working as part of a supportive and driven team.
 

Ideally, you’ll bring:
 


* 1+ year experience in freight forwarding (air and/or ocean) – advantageous


* CargoWise experience – advantageous


* AFR/OFR export operations knowledge – advantageous


* Dangerous Goods accreditation – advantageous


* Knowledge of origin and destination government requirements


* Strong communication, administration, and organisational skills


* A flexible mindset with the ability to respond to changing customer and airline needs with urgency


* A positive, collaborative, and results-driven approach
