Civil Engineer - Entry-level Highway Design

As an Entry-Level Highway Engineer, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects that improve safety, mobility, and accessibility for the traveling public.

For more information, visit: www.gpinet.com Responsibilities: Assist in the design of highways, roadways, intersections, and transportation infrastructure projects.
Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
Develop geometric roadway designs using industry-standard engineering software.
Support drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination efforts.
Assist with traffic analysis and transportation studies.
Perform field visits to collect data, evaluate existing conditions, and support project development.
Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, surveyors, environmental specialists, and other design disciplines.
Review construction plans and contractor submittals for compliance with project requirements.
Assist with permit applications and regulatory submissions.
Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and transportation agencies.
Support construction phase services, including responding to requests for information and reviewing field conditions.
Maintain project documentation and follow quality control procedures.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification within one year preferred.
Internship or co-op experience in transportation or civil engineering is a plus.
Basic understanding of highway design, transportation engineering, and roadway construction principles.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
