Lean Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Lean Technician will be responsible for the implementation of continuous improvement projects associated with any operation in the plant.

A Lean Technician should require no supervision, is self-sufficient, and be capable of occasionally directing a group of mechanics.

A Lean Technician must consistently demonstrate good performance in the are of safety, quality, productivity, and overall work habits.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 


* Apply Lean principles to drive continuous improvement in assembly operations and productivity


* Conduct time studies, video analysis, and process evaluations to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities


* Develop and improve standard work, including implementing mistake-proofing solutions (e.g., visual aids, go/no-go gauges)


* Lead or support kaizen events and 5S initiatives; document and sustain improvements


* Improve material flow and collaborate with internal and external partners to establish visual inventory controls (min/max levels)


* Train and coach operators on Lean concepts, tools, and best practices


* Promote safety by identifying risks and implementing improvements to eliminate hazards


* Support performance tracking by updating and monitoring key operational metrics


* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share best practices and implement standardized improvements across areas


* Executes against standard processes and Key Performance Indicators (KPls) as defined in the global operating standard established in BAC Excellence (BAC-X) including Global Assembly Standardization (GAS) expectations.


* Maintain punctual and regular attendance.

Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and comply with all safety regulations.


* Adapt to changing job schedules and shifting production priorities.


* Demonstrate consistent performance in productivity, safety, and work habits.


* Understand upstream and downstream customer impacts and contribute to quality and on time delivery.


* Perform other duties as requested or assigned by leadership.


* Use appropriate methods and interpersonal skills to develop and motivate employees.


* Ability to work any shift as required to support business needs.


* Ability to remain flexible, self‑motivated, and responsive in a fast‑paced environment.

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL

 

Education & Experience


* High School diploma or GED required.


* 3–5 years of manufacturing or assembly experience with strong product and process knowledge


* Experience in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or process optimization


* Hands-on experience supporting production teams and driving efficiency improvements preferred
