Physician
Position Summary The Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality, patient-centered medical care to patients across the practice.
This position evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients; develops and manages individualized treatment plans; coordinates care with other healthcare professionals; and promotes preventive care and overall patient wellness.
The Physician is expected to provide clinically appropriate care while maintaining accurate medical documentation, adhering to applicable federal and state regulations, and following the organization's clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Patient Care Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, medical histories, and physical examinations.Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other clinical studies.Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with clinical judgment and applicable regulations.Provide preventive care, health screenings, immunizations, and patient education.Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent and emergent medical conditions.Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare providers when appropriate.Coordinate patient care with nurses, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, specialists, and other members of the care team.
Clinical Documentation & Compliance Maintain timely, accurate, and complete patient medical records in the organization's electronic medical record (EMR) system.Complete clinical documentation, orders, referrals, prescriptions, and other required records within established timeframes.Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards.Follow organizational policies, clinical protocols, quality standards, and patient-safety requirements.Maintain required medical licenses, certifications, registrations, and credentials.Participate in quality improvement, utilization management, and other clinical initiatives as required.
Patient Experience Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with patients and families.Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and care plans clearly and compassionately.Address patient questions and concerns and promote shared decision-making.Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements.
Team Collaboration Collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure coordinated patient care.Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and organizational initiatives as requested.Provide appropriate clinical guidance and support to members of the care team.Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
