Your Job
As the Senior Manager of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME), you will lead the Manufacturing Integration Engineering (MIE) organization and serve as the primary bridge between manufacturing and the business segments.
You will translate business strategies, product roadmaps, and customer needs into manufacturing strategies, technology roadmaps, and executable industrialization plans.
You will build a consistent, high-performing organization that connects product design, manufacturing technology, operations, supply chain, and business objectives to deliver multiple complex product launches with speed, scalability, quality, and sound economic thinking.
Our Team
The MIE team includes five direct reports: three engineering managers and two technical contributors.
The team is primarily based in Rochester Hills, with representation in Mexico and additional global collaboration.
We partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement, Finance, business segment leaders, and manufacturing technology teams to deliver scalable, cost-effective, and robust manufacturing solutions.
Our focus is to strengthen manufacturing capabilities, improve launch execution, and enable profitable growth through modular manufacturing, advanced automation, simulation, and digital technologies.
What You Will Do
* Lead, coach, and develop a distributed Manufacturing Integration Engineering organization, building consistent technical, project leadership, and business partnership capabilities.
* Serve as the manufacturing bridge to business segment leaders, translating business strategy and product roadmaps into manufacturing strategies and executable industrialization plans.
* Own the manufacturing technology roadmap, aligning it with the Business Unit's 5-year strategic plan across assembly, molding, stamping, tooling, automation, simulation, and related technical disciplines.
* Lead a portfolio of concurrent new product launches from early product development through process validation, production ramp, and launch stabilization.
* Strengthen Design for Manufacturing (DFM), manufacturing readiness, and launch governance practices to improve speed, quality, cost, and predictability.
* Establish modular and scalable manufacturing approaches that support multiple products, higher production volumes, localization, and future capacity needs.
* Apply sound economic thinking to technology, capital, capacity, automation, and make-versus-buy decisions, balancing near-term execution with long-term value creation.
* Partner across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and manufacturing technology teams to provide timely, practical solutions to business needs.
