Quality Supervisor
Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Quality Supervisor to lead the day-to-day activities of our Quality Control team and help ensure quality standards are consistently met across receiving, production, nonconformance, RMA and supplier-related activities.
This is a hands-on quality leadership role for someone who understands manufacturing Quality beyond inspection.
You will serve as a technical resource and decision-maker for quality issues, working closely with Quality Technicians, Quality Engineers, Production, Planning, Purchasing and other teams to determine the appropriate disposition of materials and products.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical Quality experience, sound judgment and the ability to distinguish between an actual specification nonconformance and an acceptable condition based on objective requirements.
You should be comfortable reading engineering drawings, interpreting GD&T and tolerances, evaluating risk, investigating root causes and making timely quality decisions in a manufacturing environment.
What Youll Do Lead, coach and prioritize the daily activities of Quality Control Technicians based on production requirements, receiving activity, nonconformances, RMAs and other Quality priorities.Assign inspection and investigation activities based on urgency, risk, available resources and operational priorities.Serve as a front-line technical resource for Quality issues identified during receiving, production, assembly, RMA investigations and other daily operations.Evaluate quality concerns against engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, inspection requirements, work instructions, customer expectations and other controlled documentation.Determine the appropriate disposition of materials and products, including acceptance, additional inspection or testing, conditional acceptance, rework/correction or Nonconforming/MRB status.Recognize when a quality issue exceeds established authority and appropriately escalate matters requiring Engineering, Quality leadership or customer approval.Monitor receiving inspection, production support, nonconformances, RMAs and other Quality activities to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.Coach Quality Technicians on inspection methods, documentation, technical requirements and consistent decision-making.Coordinate investigations of internal and external nonconformances and support containment activities.Partner with Quality Engineers on root cause investigations and corrective actions using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, 8D, Pareto analysis, FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis.Coordinate daily receiving inspection activities and review inspection results to determine whether incoming material meets requirements or requires further evaluation or Quality Hold.Support supplier quality activities, including supplier investigations, corrective actions, PPAP, First Article Inspection (FAI) and supplier audits.Identify potential quality risks and con...
