Maintenance Lead

Summary The Maintenance Lead serves as the senior technical resource within the Maintenance Department, providing hands-on leadership and guidance to maintenance technicians while actively participating in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance activities.

The Maintenance Lead coordinates daily maintenance tasks, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and assists the Maintenance Supervisor in achieving departmental goals.

Duties and Responsibilities Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems.

Assign and coordinate daily maintenance activities among technicians.

Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to maintenance personnel.

Assist in diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation issues.

Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Ensure work orders are completed accurately and on time.

Monitor equipment performance and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability.

Maintain compliance with safety, GMP, food safety, and company policies.

Assist with contractor oversight and maintenance projects as assigned.

Communicate equipment status and maintenance needs to production and management teams.

Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.

Serve as acting department leader in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor when assigned.

Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.

5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

Experience in food manufacturing or regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
