Schedule: Due to the nature of law enforcement work and operation, position may require occasional support outside of core working hours, as well as intermittent weekend support, mission dependent

Job Summary:
The U.S.
Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) protects postal customers by safeguarding the nation’s mail system through the effective use of prevention, mail screening, and investigative programs.
The Victim Services Support Specialist will provide basic telephone-based “victim services” and execute procedures to identify and remove mail associated with fraud schemes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* Knowledge of community resources and agencies that serve victims of crime.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other professionals, federal, state, and local agencies, victims, attorneys, law enforcement agents, and representatives from non-governmental service agencies;
* Experience providing Victim Services desired in support of civil and/or criminal investigations desired.
* Ability to converse with potential elderly victims telephonically.
* Ability to communicate orally and in writing is sufficient to express thoughts and ideas to a variety of people.
* Proficiency conducting research on the internet and commercial as well as public databases.
* Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
