About the Role Sage Freight is seeking a motivated, outgoing Capacity Sales Intern to gain hands-on experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, and transportation operations.

This is a 10-week internship beginning June 1st, 2027, based on-site at our Franklin, Tennessee office.

In this internship, you will work alongside our Capacity Sales team to learn how Sage Freight sources reliable transportation capacity, builds relationships with carriers, negotiates rates, and ensures shipments move safely and efficiently.

You will gain exposure to the full shipment lifecycle while working with carrier partners and internal teams including customer operations, account management, and sales.

This internship is a great opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in logistics, supply chain, sales, business, or a related field.

No previous freight experience is required.

Through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience, you will develop practical skills and gain an understanding of the fast-paced third-party logistics industry.

What Youll Do Learn how to identify and recruit new carriers through outbound calls, research, referrals, networking, and lead generation.

Assist with building and maintaining relationships with carrier owners, dispatchers, and drivers.

Learn how carrier capacity is matched with customer freight based on lanes, equipment, timing, service requirements, and pricing.

Gain exposure to carrier rate negotiations and learn how market conditions, service requirements, and pricing affect transportation decisions.

Help identify reliable carrier partners for current and future freight opportunities.

Communicate with carriers throughout the shipment lifecycle and assist with pickup and delivery updates.

Support the team in identifying potential service risks and resolving shipment-related issues.

Learn to use transportation technology, market data, and load boards to identify available capacity.

Gain an understanding of carrier safety, insurance, and compliance requirements.

Accurately document carrier activity, shipment updates, rates, and service information within Sage Freights transportation management system.

Collaborate with Capacity Sales and other internal teams to support a positive experience for carriers and customers.

Participate in training, coaching, and other professional development opportunities throughout the internship.

What Youll Bring Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in business, supply chain, logistics, sales, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
