Production Supervisor – Machine Operations

Purpose: The 2nd Shift Auto Supervisor leads second-shift production operations to meet safety, quality, output, and efficiency expectations.

This role supervises employees, coordinates staffing and workflow, monitors production and equipment performance, and resolves shift issues.

The supervisor develops employees, supports effective cross-shift communication, and drives continuous improvement and accountability.

This position is based in North Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities: Lead second-shift production from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and ensure daily priorities are executed safely and efficiently.

Coordinate staffing, work assignments, and workflow to meet production targets.

Monitor production output and equipment performance; address issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Ensure employees follow company safety, quality, and operating standards.

Train, coach, and develop team members while reinforcing performance expectations and accountability.

Conduct shift meetings to communicate priorities, goals, procedures, safety information, and updates.

Address attendance, performance, personnel, and production concerns promptly and professionally.

Track production output, attendance, shift performance, and required documentation accurately and on time.

Coordinate with first- and third-shift supervisors to ensure clear handoffs and consistent operations.

Support continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve safety, quality, and efficiency; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial operations preferred.

Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing required.

Knowledge of automotive production processes, manufacturing safety requirements, and quality standards.

Strong leadership, coaching, team management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Basic computer and production tracking skills; strong attention to detail and quality control; ability to work second shift and overtime as required.
