Project Engineer (On-Site)

WHAT WE NEED: Project Engineer (On-Site) Sigma Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Project Engineer to support one of our client facilities, located in Geismar, Louisiana.

In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers and site stakeholders to support the execution of capital and maintenance projects within a chemical manufacturing environment.

Projects may include process improvements, reliability enhancements, infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, and asset sustaining initiatives.

The position offers involvement in all phases of project execution, including scope development, engineering coordination, estimating, procurement, construction support, and project closeout.

Responsibilities: Support Project Managers in the planning and execution of capital and maintenance projects Assist with managing project scope, schedule, cost tracking, safety, and quality objectives Coordinate with operations, maintenance, reliability, engineering, and contractor personnel Track project budgets, expenditures, and forecast updatesParticipate in design reviews, hazard reviews, and Management of Change (MOC) processesCoordinate activities between vendors, contractors, engineering firms, and site personnelMonitor field execution and provide construction support in an active chemical manufacturing environmentAssist with project reporting, status updates, and documentation managementSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and operational performanceEnsure compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements Develop project scopes, work packages, technical documents, and bid package Support project estimating, scheduling, procurement, and contractor management activities WHO WE NEED: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline required 3 to 10 years of engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, refining, or industrial environments Understanding of project execution processes from development through construction and startup Experience supporting capital projects and working within operating facilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required Familiarity with engineering software and project scheduling tools preferred Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement Must be capable of working within an active chemical manufacturing environment WHO WE ARE: Founded in 1987, Sigma is a professional multi-discipline engineering and design company that serves the petrochemical, fertilizer, and refining industries.
