What You'll Do As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will: Provide comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare to diverse patient populations.Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries.Manage chronic conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.Order, perform, and interpret appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.Prescribe medications and evidence-based treatments within your scope of practice.Provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and ongoing care for patients with substance use disorders.Educate patients regarding disease prevention, treatment plans, medications, and healthy lifestyle choices.Coordinate referrals and collaborate with physicians, behavioral health professionals, nursing staff, pharmacy, and other members of the care team.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).Follow established clinical protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Perform appropriate in-office procedures based on training, competency, and scope of practice, which may include Pap smears, IUD/Nexplanon placement, biopsies, joint injections, nail removals, suturing, wart cryotherapy, and incision and drainage.
