Van Driver/Admin Support
Primary Purpose of Position: The position is responsible for transporting the transportation needs of consumers to the PCC outpatient consumer sites to receive our treatment services while at all times operating in a manner that will ensure consumer safety and quality service.
In addition, the position is required to maintain the agency vehicles.
The position requires strong analytical and navigation skills to coordinate multiple pick-ups and drop-offs on a schedule under continuously changing circumstances.
Performance Expectations and Competencies (Driver) Picks up consumers at home or another facility.
Provides the assistance required to assist consumer boarding.
Ensures wheelchairs and passengers are properly secured before starting the van.
Depending on the route may pick up several consumers for a common destination.
On arrival at the medical facility, assist consumers in exiting the van and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas.
Checks the van to ensure that no personal items are left behind.
Provides lunch pick-up for consumers daily Provides first-aid or CPR if required during consumer transport.
Immediately notify emergency staff and dispatcher if skilled assistance is required.
Completes reports at the end of a shift.
Immediately reports traffic accidents to the dispatcher, requesting police or ambulance service as needed.
Assists injured persons with a first-aid kit until these services arrive.
Completes company accident reports.
Must be punctual in attendance and strictly maintain timing schedules.
Maintain logs and document details that their employer seeks during the work hour.
Must be an expert in maintaining and handling vehicles.
Required to maintain regular checks on their vehicles and report malfunctions to the management as soon as possible.
Confirm the pick-up schedule 24 hours in advance.
Maintain consumer confidentiality.
Securely maintain consumer information.
Adhere to the PCC Employee Code of Contact and all PCC policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor Performance Expectations and Competencies (Admin Support Back Up) Back up for the front desk when not performing driver duties Compiles intake packets Answering site phones (internal and external) Completion of intake forms for medical records Consumer drug screens Other duties as assigned by the supervisor Required Skills/Abilities: Possess the patience and tact necessary for contact with consumers.
Must be reliable and capable of working independently and remaining calm in emergency situations.
Education and Experience: Must maintain a valid driver's license and have an excellent driving record.
High school diploma or GEC.
Depending on the assigned area, knowledge of Spanish would be helpful.
Satisfactory completion of a company training program in passenger assistance techniques, sensitivity training, and map reading, or demonstrated competence based on previous employment experience.
