Operations Manager - Southeast Heavy Industrial & Mining

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

Responsible for contributing to an environment in which the Senior Management Team of the District/Division is a fully functioning, cohesive and effective team.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Develop and maintain consistent administrative procedures, reports, submittals, change orders and provide documentation required to support the company project audit process.
2.

Ensure the accurate and timely submission of operations financial reporting for all projects.
3.

Manages the Operations functions of the profit center and participates in Go/No Go for project selection and supervises the orderly and timely transition of projects from estimating to the field.
4.

Provide assistance as required to resolve potential problems related to construction, subcontractors, owners, architects and engineers and coordinate work with legal to prepare and timely submit active claims report.
5.

Responsible for design review (budget vs.

design), preparation of general conditions and preconstruction and construction schedules, budget review and project profitability goals, review and execution of subcontract and purchase order agreements and the coordination of purchasing plan schedule commitments.
6.

Responsible for implementation and execution of project QA/QC and Continuous Improvement programs as well as for the timely closeout of all projects.
7.

Responsible for personnel assignments and responsibilities and the management of self-performed work.
8.

Responsible for the development of an adequate pre-qualified list of subcontractors for all projects and responsible for risk analysis of subcontractors.
9.

Serves as a member of the Profit Centers Senior Management Team with shared responsibilities for: profitability goals, work obtained goals, risk management, performance expectations and personnel development.

Minimum Job Requirements

1.

Advanced management or technical training preferred.
2.

Excellent management, leadership, business and technical skills.
3.

Extensive experience in estimating techniques, selective engineering disciplines, cost control systems, building systems, scheduling, productivity analysis, construction operations and billing/cash flow methods.
4.

Four year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
5.

Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
6.

Ten or more years of experience in the construction of projects similar to those executed by the division/subsidiary.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)

May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis

May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
4.

May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices...
