Schneider Electric's Secure Power and Data Center Division is shaping the future of AI and high-performance computing infrastructure.

As AI workloads drive unprecedented power demand, the industry is transitioning towards next-generation 800V Data Center power architectures, ultra-high-density power conversion, and intelligent energy management systems.

As a Power Electronics Co-Op, you will join a high-performing R&D team developing advanced power conversion technologies that enable the world's largest AI and cloud computing infrastructures.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge power electronics products, gain hands-on laboratory experience, and collaborate with experienced engineers across electrical, mechanical, firmware, and system engineering disciplines.

Duration: 6 months, January 2027-July 2027

What will you do?

As a member of our cross functional R&D team at the forefront of developing high density power converter for AI datacenter applications, you will:


* Support the design and development of next-generation high-density DC-DC power converters and power shelves for AI data center applications.


* Contribute to the development of advanced 800V power distribution and conversion architectures enabling efficient delivery of megawatt-scale AI workloads.


* Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis using tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice.


* Assist in the design and evaluation of magnetic components, analog circuits, gate drive circuits, and digital control systems.


* Conduct laboratory testing, characterization, and validation of power converters, power semiconductor devices, and system-level hardware.


* Analyze converter performance including efficiency, power density, thermal behavior, and transient response.


* Support debugging, root-cause analysis, and optimization of hardware prototypes.


* Collaborate with electrical, firmware, mechanical, reliability, and manufacturing engineers throughout the product development cycle.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

Required qualifications


* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.


* Completed coursework in power electronics, circuit analysis, control systems, electromagnetics, or related subjects.


* Strong understanding power conversion principles for AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC converter topologies.


* Experience with power electronics simulation tools such as PLECS, MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice.


* Located and able to work in Andover, MA

Preferred qualifications


* Experience with high-power or high-voltage power converter design.


* Familiarity with isolated DC-DC converter topologies such as LLC, Dual Active Bridge, multi-level and multi-phase converters.


* Understanding of wide-bandgap semiconductor technologies including SiC and GaN devices.
