Schneider Electric's Secure Power and Data Center Division is driving the next generation of power and infrastructure solutions for AI, cloud computing, and hyperscale data centers.

As AI workloads continue to grow, intelligent power distribution, digital power conversion, and real-time infrastructure monitoring have become critical technologies enabling reliable and efficient operation of modern data centers.

As an Electrical & Embedded Systems Co-op, you will join a multidisciplinary R&D team developing intelligent Rack Power Distribution Units (rPDUs), high-density power shelves, and advanced embedded control systems for AI infrastructure.

This role provides hands-on experience working at the intersection of power electronics, embedded systems and edge AI development.

Duration: January 2027-July 2027

What will you do?

As a member of our cross functional R&D team, you will:


* Collaborate with electrical, firmware, mechanical, and test engineers to develop intelligent rack PDUs and high-density power shelves for AI data centers.


* Support embedded hardware bring-up, board debugging, and system integration activities.


* Develop and validate embedded software, device drivers, and communication interfaces using C and Python.


* Assist in implementing digital control algorithms for advanced power converters and power management systems.


* Explore embedded AI applications for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and intelligent power monitoring.


* Work with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, and Ethernet.


* Perform laboratory testing, system validation, and performance characterization of hardware and firmware.


* Support schematic review, PCB development, technical documentation, and product lifecycle management activities using Cadence and PDM tools.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

Required qualifications


* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related technical field.


* Strong understanding of embedded systems fundamentals.


* Proficiency in C programming.


* Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or data analysis.


* Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded processors, and real-time systems.


* Knowledge of common communication protocols including UART, SPI, and I²C.


* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


* Located and able to work in Andover, MA.
