Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)

NHC HealthCare Lexington, a post-acute rehabilitation center in West Columbia, SC, is seeking a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).

The qualified applicant will be an organized self-starter with excellent time management skills and a positive attitude.

Position Highlights:


* Ensure patient files are properly maintained and can be retrieved upon request or for scheduled appointments.


* Perform clerical tasks necessary for the proper maintenance of patient medical records.


* Reconcile all discharged records and follow up on missing documentation.


* Prepare, scan, verify, and index all patient records within 24 to 48 hours of discharge.


* Ensure physicians properly sign, date, and complete patient records before they are finalized.


* Arrange records from the skilled nursing facility in proper order, prepare them for storage, log them into the system, and place them in storage containers.


* Scan and photocopy records, and receive and send information via fax.


* Conduct periodic medical record audits and chart reviews.


* Answer telephone calls and respond to questions regarding patient medical records.
