Job Summary

The Enviromental Waste and Wastewater Compliance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating environmental waste and wastewater compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining health, safety, and environmental stewardship as top priorities.

Oversees waste management activities including waste characterization, profiling, labeling, inspections, storage, treatment, shipment coordination, regulatory reporting, and documentation to support ongoing compliance with hazardous waste and wastewater requirements.

Serves as a key resource for environmental compliance by developing procedures, providing training, managing regulatory submissions, identifying waste minimization and recycling opportunities, and supporting continuous improvement of environmental programs across the facility.

Minimum Qualifications



* Associate's degree plus minimum of five years job-related exprerience required


* Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.


* Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.


* Preferred: Refinery/chemical plant experience

Job Duties

Coordinate waste container management, including delivery, re-spotting, organization within laydown areas, labeling, inspections, inventory reviews, and ensuring hazardous waste is not stored beyond regulatory time limits.

Manage all waste activities for the refinery, ensuring compliance with 40 CFR 261 and all applicable environmental regulations.

Serve as the primary contact for waste management and waste minimization issues

Prepare waste profiles, characterize waste streams, collect waste samples, determine disposal methods and treatment standards, and identify recycling/reclamation opportunities

Coordinate and manage waste shipments, including preparation of manifests, bills of lading (BOLs), land disposal restriction (LDR) documents, and transportation to approved TSDFs and other facilities

Prepare and coordinate regulatory reporting, including the annual hazardous waste report, annual certificate of compliance report, and quarterly hazardous waste tax returns
