Under direction from the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing the daily activity of shipping, receiving, and general warehouse duties in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday (7:30PM-4AM) (Friday and Sundays Off) Essential Position Functions: Dock managementAssigning workload to staffEmployee daily schedule (breaks & departure)Put away and replenishmentLoading and unloading of materialsWarehouse cleanlinessReceiving material completeShipping loads completeProcessing all warehouse documentsTraining new employees on processesFollow-up and periodic training; including re-training as necessaryMaintain training recordsParticipate in Monthly Safety Meeting, as requested Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Leadership skillsOrganizationKnowledge of general warehouse operationsGood attendance record, dependable workerKnowledge of food distributionInstrumental in driving positive cultural development Education & Experience: Forklift certified/trained1-2 years' experience in warehouse order selection, receiving, shipping, building pallet of products, shrink wrap pallets.Experience with safety procedures in a warehouse environmentForklift, pallet jack experienceSuccessfully complete criminal background check - no felonies in last 5 yearsMust be 18 years of age or older Special Skills: Desire to contribute to a positive culture and be a member of a cohesive teamDesire to learn and advanceDrive to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers Physical Demands: Ability to reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to 50 lbs.Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear and reach with hands and armsAbility to frequently bend, stoop, twist, and turn in a safe mannerExhibit manual dexterity and good hand/eye coordination to move freightWork in freezer and cooler environments Work Environment: Warehouse environment, walking and riding on equipment.Constant temperature ch...
