Mechanical Engineer SR 1

Position Overview BLOC Resources is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer SR 1 to provide engineering and technical support for Southern Nuclear's Extended Power Uprate (EPU) initiatives.

Southern Nuclear is pursuing Extended Power Uprates for both Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) and Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) units.

The selected candidate will support engineering activities associated with evaluating plant systems, equipment, design bases, and operating conditions under proposed EPU conditions.

This position will support the development and review of Design Input Requests (DIRs) used by external Architect-Engineer (A/E) firms to perform EPU-related analyses.

The engineer will also assist with reviewing and validating technical Task Reports and other engineering deliverables through the owner-acceptance process.

The ideal candidate will bring substantial commercial nuclear power experience and a strong understanding of nuclear plant systems, engineering design, operations, licensing, configuration management, and/or power uprate projects.
