Engineer II, Electromechanical Design
As an Engineer II, Electromechanical Design, you will develop and optimize electromechanical products, subsystems, and platforms for low-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
You will combine mechanical and electrical engineering principles to create innovative, reliable, and manufacturable solutions that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.
In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of power panelboards, switchboards, distribution systems, busbar assemblies, enclosures, and related low-voltage equipment, while supporting the entire product development lifecycle from concept generation through product release.
You will leverage engineering analysis, simulation, prototyping, testing, and validation methodologies to improve product performance, manufacturability, safety, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
Working independently with general guidance, you will apply specialized technical knowledge to solve engineering challenges and deliver high-quality technical solutions that support business objectives.
What will you do?
Product Design & Development
* Develop electromechanical designs for low-voltage electrical distribution products, platforms, features, options, and subsystems.
* Translate technical requirements, standards, and customer needs into robust engineering solutions.
* Participate in concept development, feasibility analysis, prototyping, design validation, industrialization, and product release activities.
* Develop scalable, modular, and standardized solutions that support portfolio growth and competitiveness.
Electromechanical & Power Distribution Design
* Design and optimize mechanical structures, electromechanical assemblies, current-carrying systems, busbar systems, enclosures, and electrical distribution architectures.
* Support the development of low-voltage power distribution equipment including:
* Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
* Power Panelboards
* Panelboards
* Switchboards
* Distribution Boards
* Industrial Control Panels
* Evaluate electrical clearances, creepage distances, thermal performance, short-circuit withstand capability, mechanical integrity, installation efficiency, and serviceability.
* Contribute to the design and validation of motor-driven applications, protection systems, power supplies, and energy distribution solutions.
Engineering Verification & Validation
* Utilize CAD tools, GD&T, tolerance analysis, simulation, modeling, and prototype testing to improve performance and manufacturability.
* Support verification and validation activities, including prototype evaluation, testing, issue resolution, and design improvements.
* Collaborate with test laboratories, certification teams, and quality stakeholders to demonstrate compliance with applicable standards.
