Position Overview

A crushing plant operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, bins, etc., to ensure the safe and efficient production of crushed materials like aggregates.

This includes tasks like operating machinery and fixed assets, helping with performing necessary maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Operating Machinery:



* Operating crushers, conveyors, screens, and other related equipment.


* Ensuring equipment is functioning properly and efficiently.


* Crushing materials to the desired size and consistency.


* Transporting materials within the plant.

Maintenance and Repair:



* Performing routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.


* Identifying and reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.


* Assisting with repairs or maintenance tasks as needed.


* Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Safety and Compliance:



* Following all safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).


* Ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations and company policies.


* Conducting daily pre-shift safety workplace exams.


* Reporting any safety hazards or accidents immediately.

Documentation and Reporting:



* Maintaining records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and safety inspections.


* Recording and reporting production data, downtime incidents, and maintenance schedules.

Other Duties:



* Assisting with other plant tasks as needed, such as cleaning or general maintenance.


* Receiving and processing incoming materials.


* Preparing materials for crushing, such as using a hammer.


* Checking stockpiles and ensuring the required quality.


* Managing metallic materials recovered from the plant.

Other Requirements


* Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.


* Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.


* Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.


* Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
