Hanford Post Acute is seeking an experienced and dedicated Interim Director of Nursing to provide strong clinical leadership and support our nursing team during a transitional period.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled nursing leader who can step into an established operation, build positive relationships, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure our residents continue receiving exceptional, compassionate care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Department.
* Ensure residents receive high-quality care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, facility policies, and regulatory standards.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing supervisors, licensed nurses, CNAs, and other clinical staff.
* Collaborate with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to support resident outcomes and facility goals.
* Monitor nursing documentation, clinical systems, staffing levels, and quality indicators.
* Ensure adequate nursing coverage and assist with staffing and scheduling needs.
* Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and evaluating nursing employees.
* Conduct clinical rounds and promptly address resident-care or employee-performance concerns.
* Oversee infection prevention, quality assurance, risk management, and performance-improvement initiatives.
* Monitor incidents, changes in condition, hospital transfers, wounds, falls, weights, and other areas of clinical risk.
* Ensure care plans, assessments, and required documentation are accurate and completed on time.
* Participate in resident care conferences and communicate professionally with residents and families.
* Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys and inspections.
* Develop and implement plans of correction when necessary.
* Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local requirements governing skilled nursing facilities.
* Promote a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and resident-centered care.
* Protect resident privacy and maintain the confidentiality of all health information.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
* Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse license required.
* Current CPR/BLS certification required.
* Previous Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or senior nursing leadership experience required.
* Skilled nursing or long-term-care experience strongly preferred.
* Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, survey readiness, care planning, infection prevention, and quality assurance.
