Senior Automation Engineer - 1st Shift

As the Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for facility layout and design, manpower planning, project scheduling and management, and support for new business development.

You will be challenged with finding ways to improve productivity, developing strategies to help people work smarter, developing work instructions and updating standard operating procedures.

The annual salary range for this role is $115,000- $130,000/Year.

GXO, in good faith, believes this is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.

We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California.

This rate may be modified in the future.

What you'll do on a typical day:


* Own the performance, throughput, and reliability of a Geek+ Goods-to-Person (GTP) automation system operating in a 24/7 distribution environment.


* Lead and support a 24/7 maintenance organization, including technician training, uptime tracking, repair management, preventative maintenance planning, spare parts inventory, contractor coordination, and vendor support management.


* Partner with Geek+ to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, including order prioritization, task strategy optimization, bin error skip logic, grid zoning enhancements, and other system performance improvements.


* Serve as the primary customer-facing engineering representative, communicating downtime events, presenting improvement proposals, and building business cases that demonstrate operational and financial value.
