Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer intern will provide assistance on various projects for either the Project Engineering or Reliability Department and will become familiar with the refinery organization and work processes while learning refinery safe work practice.

The intern will work on various projects throughout the refinery under the direction of a more senior engineer.

This position is a paid 12-week summer internship.

A presentation covering all aspects of the internship experience and accomplishments will be expected at the end of the term.

Interns will be responsible for providing assistance with various engineering duties which may include: providing technical support for various refinery units, basic engineering research and support for electrical projects, updating engineering records and perform routine engineering.

This position is located on site at either Lemont, Illinois or Downers Grove, Illinois.

Expected Pay Range: $25.50 - $34.00

Minimum Qualifications



* High School Diploma


* Must be enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering Bachelor Degree program
+ Must be at least a sophomore status in college (completion of freshman year)


* Must have overall GPA of 3.0 or above


* Availability to work forty (40) hours per week for full 12 week program


* Must have valid driver's license


* Candidate must posess strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work in a a team environment


* Transportation Worker Identification Creditential (TWIC) Eligibility
+ Eligibility Requirements: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration.
