Embedded Systems Engineer

Summary As an Embedded Engineer at FIRST RF, you will work as part of a team building cutting edge antenna prototypes and products.

Your responsibilities will include the design and test of a wide variety of active antenna systems.

We emphasize well rounded and collaborative engineers who enjoy being involved in all aspects of the design including schematics, board layout, software, and systems.

As you progress, responsibilities will extend to a high-level design of active RF systems.

Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and test embedded electronics for advanced active RF prototypes and productsDevelop and test firmware to support hardware architecture, integration, and verificationPerform hands-on characterization and validation using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipmentParticipate in schematic capture, PCB layout reviews, and board bring-up activitiesCollaborate closely with Project Managers, RF Engineers, and Mechanical EngineersSupport troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and iterative design improvements across the full product lifecycleDocument design decision, test results, and technical findings for internal teams, management, and external customersContribute to high-level system design as experience growsAssist in developing automated test set-ups and data analysis workflows to improve engineering efficiency Qualifications Required Education and Experience Must have U.S.

citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S.

Security ClearanceMust have a Bachelors degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience designing and troubleshooting analog and digital circuitsExperience with microcontroller programming in CProficiency with electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzersExcellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to peers, management, and customers Preferred Education and Experience Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldExperience with real time operating systems for embedded systemsExperience in digital design using Verilog and/or VHDLExperience with printed circuit board layout and assemblyProficiency in Python for automating test equipment and data analysisA proven capacity to contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projectsPast experience with Altium DesignerExperience with RF devices and test equipment Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
