Yard Hand

The Yard Hand is responsible for assisting with carrying out tasks required to successfully achieve the service department objectives.



*this position is Part Time Seasonal Essential Duties and Responsibilities Haul, block and launch boatsPerform general boat maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: waxing, bottom painting and zinc replacementWork closely with the Yard Foreman and assist fellow crewmembers as neededOperate yard machinery including 75-Ton Travelift, 35-Ton hydraulic trailer, forklift, power washer, etc.Grounds maintenance and marina cleanlinessAvailability to work overtime when requiredCarry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related trainingWear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work areaReport all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately Technical and Physical Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious marina experience preferredHeavy forklift experience a plusAbility to ascend and descend a ladderAbility to work in all weather conditionsAbility to work in confined spacesAbility to lift 50 poundsBasic boat handling skills a plus Minimum Soft Skill Qualifications Eagerness to engage in a growing, fast paced, and industry-leading companyConsistently treats others with dignity and respectGenuinely serves others with humility and a positive attitudeFrequently demonstrates a bias toward actionAlways communicates effectively and courteously with fellow teammates and membersContinuously follows policies and procedures while seeking out new and better ways of accomplishing dutiesShows resolve and overcomes difficulties in a positive and productive mannerGladly provides responsive, and high level of service to our teammates and membersEagerly puts forth the extra effort to accomplish dutiesAdapts quickly and efficiently to changing priorities in order to meet teammate or member needs The Company Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM) is the largest owner and operator of marinas in the world.
