SKILLS:


* Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.


* Proficient in basic computer use, including Windows-based systems.


* Capable of using an ERP system for data entry, printing, and reviewing engineering documents.


* Proficient in the use of basic inspection tools, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges, ring and plug gauges, optical comparators, and Rockwell hardness testers.


* Strong understanding of basic math and ability to interpret product specifications.


* Self-motivated, well-organized, and effective communicator.


* GD&T understanding and the ability to decipher highly technical prints.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:


* Work performed 10% standing, 90% seated.


* High measure of concentration required for extended periods of time with high accuracy.



* Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, as required to perform essential job duties.


* Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.


* Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision and in accordance with established procedures and quality standards, the Mechanical Inspector is responsible for the following:


* Utilize precision measuring instruments and tools to assess dimensional accuracy and quality of mechanical parts.


* Conduct thorough inspection of mechanical components, assemblies, purchased parts, materials, and outside processes (e.g., coating) to verify compliance with purchase requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.


* Execute incoming and final inspections during manufacturing operations to ensure product conformity at defined checkpoints.


* Inspect in-house manufactured parts and assemblies, both routine and non-routine inspections (e.g., first-piece, final, and functional inspections)


* Accurately record, document, and sign off on all inspection results using designated forms, logs, or digital systems.


* Immediately report any nonconformances or deviations to the Area Supervisor, Quality Engineer, or Quality Manager for review and disposition.


* Ensure the Inspection Area is maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition in accordance with 5S and safety practices.


* Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and contributing to corrective actions when appropriate.


* Conduct periodic training of inspectors and initial training of new hires

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Ensure all fabrication, assembly, and testing activities comply with manufacturing instructions.
