Position Overview

The Area Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable management of asphalt paving crews, utility crews, and asphalt plant operations within APAC Atlantic.

This position provides leadership and direction to multiple operational teams while ensuring projects and production activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards.

The Area Manager partners with estimating, sales, quality control, equipment, trucking, maintenance, and Environmental, Health and Safety teams to drive operational excellence, support business growth, and achieve financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership


* Demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to safety throughout all operations.


* Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable federal, state, local, OSHA, DOT, and environmental requirements.


* Conduct regular jobsite, plant, and operational inspections; support incident investigations and corrective actions.

Operational Leadership


* Direct and oversee asphalt paving crews, utility crews, and asphalt plant operations across the assigned area.


* Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and production schedules to support safe and efficient execution.


* Establish operating priorities, monitor performance, and implement actions to improve productivity, quality, and profitability.


* Provide leadership and direction to superintendents, supervisors, foremen, plant personnel, and other operations employees.

Asphalt Plant Operations


* Oversee daily asphalt plant operations, including production planning, plant utilization, product quality, operating costs, and regulatory compliance.


* Partner with maintenance and quality control teams to maximize plant reliability, uptime, and product consistency.


* Support preventive maintenance, capital planning, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Paving and Utility Operations


* Ensure paving and utility work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with plans and specifications.
