Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Product Development Engineering Intern to support the OTTAVA Surgical Robotic Platform within the Development Engineering organization.

The intern will work alongside experienced engineers, technical specialists, manufacturing partners, quality teams, and suppliers to support New Product Development (NPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), design transfer, component development, manufacturing readiness, and continuous improvement activities.

This role provides hands-on exposure to regulated medical device development, design for manufacturability, engineering analysis, supplier collaboration, and cross-functional problem solving.

Responsibilities


* Assist internal teams and external suppliers with planning, development, qualification, and stabilization of components, equipment, and manufacturing processes for NPD and NPI projects.


* Support cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, and suppliers to evaluate design options and manufacturing solutions.


* Apply Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and Design-to-Cost principles to help assess manufacturability, assembly flow, cost tradeoffs, and design robustness.


* Assist with tolerance stack-up, GD&T review, basic engineering analysis, and documentation to support robust and manufacturable component designs.


* Support design reviews by preparing technical inputs, documenting risks, capturing action items, and helping evaluate feasibility, manufacturability, and cost considerations.
