Adjunct Instructor of Psychology
The Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program welcomes qualified instructors to join the adjunct faculty pool.
The department is interested in hiring individuals able to teach courses within their area of expertise in the PsyD program.
Simpson University adjunct instructors may be expected to deliver courses in a variety of modalities, in-person, online, hyflex (hybrid), utilizing Canvas (LMS) and classroom technology.
Qualifications: A doctoral degree (PsyD or PhD) in Psychology.Have several years of post-grad clinical experience and be a Licensed Psychologist or Registered Psychological Associate or have evidence of scholarly psychological research.Effective and engaging teaching at the university level preferred.Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.), Canvas, and can integrate new programs.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
Experience in clinical supervision or mentoring preferred.
Experience teaching or practicing with diverse and underserved populations preferred.

Perform other duties in accordance with this position as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor.
Essential Functions: Teach assigned courses, including class preparation, instruction, grading, and office hours.
Deliver curriculum for courses as assigned and related to areas of expertise.
o Example courses: History of Psychological Systems, Spiritual Integration and Wellness Psychology, Advanced Research Methods, Advanced Psychopathology, Psychological Laws, Ethics, and Contemporary Issues, Child Development, Chemical Dependency, Aging and Long-Term Care, Personality Psychology, Psychological Assessment, Crisis Management, Cultural Diversity in Psychology, Spousal & Intimate Partner Violence, Cognition, Emotion, and Motivation, Advanced Psychopharmacology, Human Sexuality, Counseling Supervision & Consultation, Doctoral Project Provide timely feedback to students and mentor students regarding professional development.
Prepare lectures, class activities, and update course materials to meet accreditation standards.
Provide additional academic support to students as needed.
