Software Engineer I
JOB SUMMARY
Software Engineer I is a member of the Distributed Applications team responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and testing of web, mobile, Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning (AIML) and legacy applications.
Incumbent uses technologies and application development tools to develop, test, implement, and maintain in-house applications and works closely with senior engineers, solution architect, and internal business partners to analyze business requirements, participate in design sessions and develop application features, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of software systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position incumbent is expected to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation.
* Participate in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications.
* Work in a team-oriented environment with flexibility to work independently.
* Collaborate with application development team on software products and development methodologies.
* Develop, test, debug, and maintain application code using appropriate tools.
* Actively participate in peer code reviews, application standards and application performance reviews to improve the quality of software products.
* Assist with new and alternate solutions to improve existing processes and procedures.
* Conduct research on new products and tools that may assist customers' business needs.
* Test software applications for efficiency and identify any bugs and propose fixes.
* Efficiently identify and resolve issues that arise during the design, testing and maintenance processes using problem-solving skills.
* Participate in team meetings, requirements analysis, design meetings, and code reviews.
* Participate in training and other learning opportunities to ensure compliance and expand knowledge of the company, position, and process.
