Job Duties and Responsibilities Performs accurate vital signs measurement to give clinical staff a reliable baseline for patient evaluation.Executes precise phlebotomy procedures to collect laboratory specimens safely and efficiently.Conducts electrocardiograms (ECGs) to capture essential cardiac data for provider review.Manages patient triage to prioritize urgent care needs and direct patient flow effectively.Administers medications safely and accurately according to established clinical protocols.Documents patient encounters in electronic health records (EHR) to maintain compliance and continuity of care.Gives injections with skill and precision to minimize patient discomfort.Maintains strict aseptic technique across all clinical procedures to prevent infection and ensure safety.
Required Qualifications Education Completes an accredited Medical Assistant program.Holds a current and valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.Maintains active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Experience Brings at least one year of hands-on experience in an outpatient clinic or ambulatory care setting.Demonstrates proficiency in clinical workflows and patient care documentation.
Knowledge/Skills Applies thorough knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively with the healthcare team.Navigates electronic health records (EHR) systems with speed and accuracy.Balances multiple competing priorities while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.Communicates clearly and empathetically with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications Speaks a second language to support our diverse patient population.Operates comfortably in specialty care environments such as cardiology or pediatrics.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions Stands and walks for extended periods during clinical shifts.Lifts and transports medical equipment or supplies up to twenty-five pounds.Wears required personal protective equipment throughout the workday.Works in a standard clinical environment with exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
