Koch Fertilizer is looking for a 2027 Summer Electrical Engineer Intern to join our Engineering team in Dodge City, Kansas.

The internship opportunity will be a 12-week program running from late May to mid-August 2027.

What You Will Do



* Assist with troubleshooting plant electrical equipment: motors, drives, analyzers, control panels, power distribution, and transmitters


* Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs: inspect, test, and document electrical systems


* Help evaluate and specify new electrical equipment, instrumentation, and system upgrades: prepare data sheets, one-line diagrams, and cost estimates


* Contribute to risk assessments, root cause analyses, and troubleshooting efforts to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.

Physical Requirements



* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.


* Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.


* Ability to climb straight ladders.

Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.


* Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.


* Confined space entry may be required.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* Currently enrolled in a relevant degree or certificate, such as Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering or other related field.


* Eligible for full-time employment before or by May 2028


* Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship


* Willing and able to meet all physical requirements

* Experience troubleshooting electrical equipment


* Demonstrated involvement in engineering design teams, student organizations, or hands-on electrical projects
