Maintenance Technician II - 1st Shift

Position Summary:

Maintain the Preventative Maintenance Program and facility equipment.

In addition, individuals in this role will work with electric components at the facility and within the facility.

Respond to service calls within 30 minutes as directed by the Supervisor.

Organize area daily.

What you'll do


* Maintain and repair production equipment (presses, saws, tools, fixtures, etc.)


* Maintain and repair facility equipment (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, etc.)


* Design and weld simple fixtures and templates and other welding tasks.


* Maintain and repair safety equipment (fire extinguishers, light curtains, safety guards etc.)


* Maintain and repair electrical equipment.


* Install and maintain electrical control circuits and PLC.


* Analysis of problems and develop solutions.


* Maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) program.


* Perform other general maintenance task (change light bulbs, assemble/move furniture, paint etc.)


* Organize and maintain maintenance area.


* Organize parts and stock supplies.


* Clean up shop daily.


* Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.


* Wear proper PPE


* Attend and constructively participate in safety meetings and safety training


* Actively promote safety


* Report injuries to supervisor immediately


* Cooperate with fellow employees and supervisor


* Develop and maintain productive working relationships with other work groups, both within and outside of his/her department


* Help other coworkers learn their job


* Participate in problem solving as directed


* Recommend ideas for continual improvement.


* Keep area clean and free from excess clutter to ensure a smooth operation and desirable work conditions


* Understanding and demonstrated performance in managing component parts associated with the job.

This includes accounting for use, scrap, rework of material as well as identification, proper storage and care.

Qualifications:


* High School Diploma or GED required.


* Electrician License or Journeyman Electrician preferred


* Candidates must pass an electrical assessment, administered internally to verify skill level.


* 5 years of manufacturing experience with focus on repair and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of punch presses, saw, shears, break presses and other related equipment.


* Understanding and ability to operate and repair forklifts, man-lifts and scissor lifts.

Capable of installing, troubleshooting, and repairing PLCs and other control circuitry.


* Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical blueprints.

Understanding in HVAC plumbing, lighting etc.


* Good work record in previous employment.



* Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions read and follow prints and routers.

The ability to understand quality requirements and to monitor production.
