Order Engineering Execution
The Engineer II, Mechanical - Order Engineering Execution is responsible for executing 3D mechanical design and engineering deliverables for customer-specific MV/LV Switchgear orders.
Responsible for end-to-end mechanical design and engineering execution, this role develops competency in order-specific customization, virtual shop floor support, and cross-functional coordination within the Order Engineering team.
Design & Execution
* Perform 3D modeling and sheet metal design in PTC Creo/ProE for MV/LV Switchgear assemblies.
* Interpret customer specs and order drawings to create application-specific mechanical designs.
* Prepare detailed engineering drawings and BOMs; modify standard assemblies as required.
* Support the US shop floor virtually - respond to manufacturing queries on assigned order
Review front elevation, one-line, and schematic drawings as part of order execution.
Coordination & Quality
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and are completed within schedule.
• Coordinate with Electrical Order Engineering design interfaces and panel layouts.
• Communicate engineering issues and progress to the Project/Engineering Manager.
• Support flexible shift timings for real-time US manufacturing floor assistance.
• Take on stretched assignments and multiple product responsibilities as needed.
• Allocate projects by availability and complexity; monitor quality and schedule.
Required
* Mechanical Design Engineering knowledge - LV/MV Switchgear structures and enclosures.
* Working proficiency in PTC Creo/ProE: Part, Sheetmetal, Assembly, and Drawing modules.
* Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
* Ability to interpret front elevation, one-line, and schematic drawings.
* Good verbal and written communication; team player in multicultural environments.
* Ability to work independently in a virtual engineering environment.
Preferred
* Exposure to LV switchboard / switchgear design, installation, and use.
* Familiarity with IS/IEC/UL/ANSI standards for switchboards (UL1558, UL891 a plus).
* Hands-on manufacturing or close shop floor collaboration experience.
* Basic familiarity with AutoCAD for 2D drawing review.
* Awareness of bus configurations, control panel wiring, and interlocking schemes.
Education
BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
4-8 years in Mechanical Design Engineering; exposure to LV/MV Switchgear or electro-mechanical enclosure products preferred.
Tools
PTC Creo/ProE (mandatory), AutoCAD (preferred), MS Office
Work Schedule
