Phone Triage Registered Nurse

School of Medicine is searching for a Phone Triage Registered Nurse.

Provides professional nursing care through telephone and electronic communication to patients receiving care in the WMed clinics.

The Phone Triage Registered Nurse utilizes evidence-based telephone triage protocols, nursing assessment skills, and clinical judgment to assess patient symptoms, determine the urgency of care, provide appropriate education, and coordinate care with providers and other members of the healthcare team.

The Phone Triage Registered Nurse serves as a clinical resource for patients, promotes continuity of care, supports efficient clinic operations, and ensures safe, timely, and patient-centered care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Refers abnormal lab work to physicians for appropriate follow up.Calls for prescription refills.

Discuss day-to-day issues with supervisor for resolution.Availability to work occasional overtime on weekends and evenings to complete time sensitive projects.

Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisions.Availability to work occasional overtime on weekends or evenings to complete time sensitive projects.Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisions.All other duties as assigned.
