Material Handler/Yard Associate

is seeking a Material Handler/Yard Associate to safely transport materials throughout the manufacturing facility and the storage yard at our shop in Fort Edward, NY.

This associate also loads finished products for shipment and unloads raw materials.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and safety-minded individual with experience in a manufacturing environment.

Your Role as a Material Handler/Yard Associate: Safely and efficiently unload and store raw materials using a forklift or overhead crane.Safely transport raw materials and work in process to the appropriate work center.Ensure that all raw materials, work in process and finished products are stored in a safe, neat and efficient manner.Prepare finished product for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and safely loading the products onto the trailer.

Install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage in transit.Assist in the accurate cycle counting of items stored in the yard as needed.Maintain the yard in a clean and organized manner, properly removing and disposing of clutter.

Perform snow removal and other yard maintenance as needed.Perform other duties as required.

What We're Looking For: Must be at least 18 years of age.Demonstrated ability to safely operate a fork truck.Excellent safety record.Ability to work with little or no supervision.Ability to multi-task and work effectively with others.Ability to read a tape measure.High level of motivation and attention to detail.Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
