Fleet Mechanic (Southwest Appalachia)

The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing Company tractors and trailers (RT Equipment) to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.

This position performs troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs across multiple systems including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical components.

The Fleet Mechanic also completes preventative maintenance, maintains accurate service documentation in Fleetio, and supports a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform thorough diagnostic tests and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components to maintain fleet performance and safety.Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance services to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage and work performed, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards, including DOT and EPA requirements.Assist in managing inventory levels of spare parts and order replacements as needed to minimize downtime.Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to share knowledge and best practices.
