Automatic Door Technician – Install and Repair Advanced Access Solutions

Job Overview:


* Company: American Automatic Doors Inc.


* Salary/Pay Rate: $27 to $40 per hour plus Year-End Bonus.


* Location: Ventura, CA (Service area throughout Southern California).


* Job/Employment Type: Full Time.


* Schedule: Monday – Friday with required Weekends, Overtime, and On-Call rotation.


* Project Scope: Automatic and manual door install and repair (Residential, Commercial, Government or Federal).


* Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None Required.

The Opportunity: You will serve as a vital technical expert ensuring the security and accessibility of high-traffic facilities ranging from hospitals to federal buildings.

How You Will Make an Impact:


* Execute high-quality installations and repairs of automatic pedestrian doors, panic hardware, and electric locks.


* Integrate sophisticated access control systems including keypads, maglocks, and ADA/handicap door operators.


* Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical failures on-site to restore facility security and functionality.


* Manage a company service vehicle to provide rapid, professional response to priority service calls.


* Document technical field reports clearly to ensure accurate communication with the home office and clients.


* Coordinate with team members during large-scale glazing and storefront glass projects at sensitive locations.


* Maintain a safe and organized workspace while handling heavy materials and specialized power tools.

Required Qualifications & Experience:


* Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot moving parts and circuitry.


* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record as determined by insurance carriers.


* Physical ability to safely lift and transport door panels weighing at least 100 pounds.


* Absolute flexibility to work odd hours, mandatory overtime, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:


* High School Diploma or GED.


* Previous professional experience in locksmithing, access control, low voltage, glazing, glass storefronts, or general commercial construction.


* Advanced understanding of basic electronics or electrical theory.


* Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a field environment.
