Senior Staff Analyst (N402)
Salary Range: $8,249.91-$11,903.10 monthly
SUMMARY
The Los Angeles County Department of Homeless Services and Housing (HSH) consolidates our countywide response to homelessness. The driving force behind HSH is increasing accountability and transparency, improving care for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and streamlining collaboration with partners including services providers, the County’s 88 cities, and unincorporated areas to deliver high-quality, life-saving care. Staff schedules are based on business need and may include the option of a hybrid work schedule where employees work remotely and from the office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Provides strategic planning and coordination for homeless services and housing initiatives within assigned unincorporated areas; assesses community needs, emerging issues, service gaps, and opportunities and develops recommendations to support HSH strategic priorities and goals.
* Coordinates and facilitates cross-functional efforts among HSH teams, including the Emergency Centralized Response Center (ECRC), Interim Housing (IH), Homeless Prevention and Housing Programs (HPU), Flexible Funding and Assistance (FFA), Communications, Municipal Relations, and other departmental programs, to address complex community needs and ensure coordinated responses.
* Supports Supervisorial District priorities and constituent requests related to homelessness and housing, coordinating with appropriate County programs, departments, contracted providers, municipalities, and community partners to research issues, identify appropriate resources, develop responses, and facilitate resolution of complex concerns.
* Plans, coordinates, and facilitates strategic meetings, workgroups, and coordination forums, including Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions agency (LACAHSA) strategy and coordination meetings, to establish priorities, exchange information, identify challenges, develop solutions, and advance collaborative initiatives related to homelessness and housing.
* Develops and maintains effective relationships with constituents, community organizations, municipalities, public agencies, service providers, and other stakeholders; represents the Department at community meetings, including in-person evening meetings, to provide information, gather community input, address concerns, and strengthen partnerships.
* Conducts complex research, needs assessments, and analysis related to homelessness, housing, and service delivery and translates findings into actionable recommendations, strategies, and priorities for Department leadership and Supervisorial District decision-making.
