Human Resources - Benefits Specialist

Position Summary:

Benefits Specialists are responsible for managing the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-and long-term disability, 401(k) plan, and leaves of absences.

Essential Job Functions:


* Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information


* Performs quality checks of benefits-related data


* Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes


* Distributes all benefit enrollment materials and determines eligibility


* Enrolling employees with benefit vendors and process status changes


* Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.


* Administer COBRA enrollment


* Reconciliation of bills


* Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personnel, disability and FMLA.


* Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.


* Responds to 401(k) inquiries related to enrollments contribution changes; reviews weekly transfers before transmitting contributions to the 401(k) administrator; assist with annual audit process.


* Assist with the open enrollment process.

* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with community-based organizations, patients, families, vendors, and other resources to promote client services, care, education, and advocacy.

Knowledge, Education, and Experience:


* BS degree in human resources, business administration, or finance


* Two to five years' experience in HR and/or benefits administration required


* Strong knowledge of current labor rules and regulations


* Familiarity with various types of incentives and benefits


* Extensive knowledge of HRIS, specifically Dayforce, and MS Office

Employment Status: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Work Location: Irvine, CA - HYBRID

Compensation: Pay Range: $26-32/hr.
