Position: Maintenance Technician I

Reports to: Maintenance Superintendent

Shift: Monday - Friday 6:30am - 2:30pm (Subject to change)
Pay: $40.52 per hour; this is a collective bargaining position

What you'll be contributing:

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Technician I maintains, troubleshoots, and improves the reliability of mechanical systems in a cement manufacturing facility.

This is a qualified position that requires completion of the Maintenance Trainee program and/or equivalent outside experience demonstrating the ability to safely perform core maintenance tasks as defined in the skills matrix.

The role focuses on preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, and shutdown maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life for critical assets, including kilns, mills, and material-handling systems.



* Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.


* Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.


* Independently perform routine maintenance inspections, basic fabrication, mechanical troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment (e.g., pumps, bulk transport equipment, and rotating equipment).


* Repair and maintain all existing mechanical equipment and facilities.

Ensure all repaired equipment is properly lubricated.


* Install or assist with the installation of new plant equipment and facilities, including major maintenance and capital projects.


* Inspect equipment and identify defects; determine appropriate timing for repairs to reduce failure risk; make necessary adjustments; and report repair work and inspection findings requiring follow-up to the supervisor.


* Troubleshoot equipment failures and apply working knowledge of plant mechanical systems.


* Inspects plant equipment, makes necessary adjustments, and reports all conditions requiring further attention to the supervisor.


* Obtain rigging and signal certification.


* Safely operate shop equipment to fabricate parts and repair plant equipment.
