About the Role This is a hybrid in-house + field engineering position designed for someone who loves variety, autonomy, and hands-on problem solving.

You'll work elbow-to-elbow with Marlin's engineering teams, customer engineering departments, and production staff to test prototype controllers, troubleshoot down to the component level, and help refine the next generation of ruggedized electronic systems.

Then you'll take your work into the field--operating customer heavy equipment to validate controller performance, replicate issues, and ensure our systems perform flawlessly in real-world conditions.

What You'll Be Doing This role isn't narrow or repetitive.

You'll touch the full spectrum of electronics troubleshooting, validation, and customer support: Diagnose, test, and repair electronic control systems down to the component level Work directly with Marlin and customer engineering teams on prototype development and refinement Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and test plans Operate heavy equipment to test controllers and components under real-world loads Chase down electrical, hydraulic, and embedded-software-related issues using oscilloscopes and diagnostic tools Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis Document findings and prepare clear, professional service reports Communicate with OEMs, customers, and vendors to understand issues and deliver solutions Manage RMAs and service requests using internal business systems Participate in structured problem-solving processes (8D or similar) Provide occasional after-hours support when needed Why Field Engineers Choose Marlin The same reasons engineers choose us overall: Real, ruggedized products -- your work ends up in the field, not just a datasheet Family-owned, close-knit culture -- you're known by name, not employee number Genuinely collaborative environment -- engineering, production, and service work together Autonomy and trust -- you're empowered to make decisions and solve problems Clear growth pathways -- technical depth, leadership, or cross-functional devel...
