Job Duties and Responsibilities Conducts comprehensive Speech Therapy and Language Therapy assessments to diagnose communication and swallowing disorders.Develops and implements individualized Treatment Planning based on assessment findings and patient goals.Provides direct therapeutic intervention for a range of communication disorders, including Articulation Disorders, Fluency Disorders, and Voice Disorders.Manages and treats Dysphagia, ensuring patient safety and improving swallowing function.Maintains accurate and timely Clinical Documentation, adhering to all regulatory and organizational standards.Engages in Interdisciplinary Collaboration with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers to optimize patient outcomes.Educates patients and families on communication strategies and swallowing techniques.Monitors and evaluates patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.Contributes to a positive and supportive clinical environment.
Required Qualifications Education Possesses a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Experience Completes a clinical fellowship year (CFY) as required by state licensure.Demonstrates at least one year of post-CFY clinical experience in speech-language pathology.
Knowledge/Skills Applies expert knowledge of Speech Therapy and Language Therapy principles.Excels in Assessment techniques for diverse populations and disorders.Develops effective Treatment Planning strategies.Manages and treats Dysphagia with proficiency.Addresses Articulation Disorders, Fluency Disorders, and Voice Disorders effectively.Maintains meticulous Clinical Documentation.Practices strong Interdisciplinary Collaboration skills.Communicates clearly and empathetically with patients, families, and colleagues.Utilizes critical thinking to solve complex clinical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications Holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).Possesses specialized experience with specific age groups (e.g., pediatric, geriatric) or clinical settings.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions Stands, walks, and sits for extended periods during patient care and documentation.Lifts, pushes, or pulls up to 25 pounds occasionally.Performs fine motor movements for therapy activities and computer use.Works in various clinical environments, including hospitals, clinics, or patient homes.Manages exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids, adhering to universal precautions.
