Social Media Coordinator
Nature of Work This is responsible technical and administrative work assisting with online communication and social media marketing efforts for the City of Pigeon Forge Tourism Department.
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing, and executing the Citys social media strategy across official digital platforms.
This position serves as a key voice of the City across all platforms.
The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and storyteller to clear and engaging content, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Job performance is evaluated by the Digital Communications Manager through review of the effectiveness of social media and online marketing trends and methods, ability to effectively communicate with the Department of Tourisms target audience, and strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Illustrative Examples of Work Develop and manage the Citys social media strategy and editorial calendar.Plan and schedule social media using the Later platform.Create, write, edit, schedule, and publish engaging content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms.Translate City policies, programs, services, announcements, and public information into engaging content.Develop original graphics, short-form videos, reels, stories, photography, and other multimedia content.Assist Digital Communications Manager with influencer, creator, and brand-advocacy programs.Monitor social media channels and respond to all messages and comments.Maintain a consistent, professional, accurate, and welcoming voice across all City social media accounts.Coordinate with City departments to identify news, announcements, events, community stories, and other content opportunities.Monitor social media trends.Ensure social media content follows applicable City policies, public records requirements, accessibility standards, and communications guidelines.Coordinate with the Citys communications, public information, marketing, and/or public affairs teams as needed.Photograph and document City events, meetings, community activities, and other public-facing activities.Maintain organized records of social media content and digital assets.Perform other related duties as assigned.
