In this entry-level role, you'll support the YMCA's financial operations by processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.

What You'll Do
Financial Operations


* Process daily accounting transactions, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.


* Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure transactions are properly coded and documented.


* Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.


* Help prepare the annual operating budget and assist with updates to the organization's rolling 12-month financial forecast.


* Maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity of accounting data.

Compliance & Internal Controls


* Follow YMCA financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.


* Assist with preparing documentation and schedules for annual audits.


* Support accurate financial reporting and maintain organized accounting records.

Collaboration & Support


* Partner with Finance team members and YMCA branch staff to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies.


* Provide excellent internal customer service while supporting the financial needs of multiple YMCA locations.


* Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

What We're Looking For


* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred (or currently working toward completion).


* Internship, coursework, or previous accounting experience is a plus but not required.


* Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.


* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with accounting software is a plus.
