Safety Technician

IMMEDIATE HIRE - APPLY TODAY SAFETY TECH Job Summary As part of the Orion Engineers + Constructors Field Services Division, the Safety Technician is assigned to client site locations and is responsible for on-site safety monitoring and compliance activities, including but not limited to confined space entry watch, atmospheric testing, hot work monitoring, and hazard identification.

This position serves as a visible safety presence in the field, ensuring all work is performed in strict compliance with OSHA, company, and client safety standards.

The role requires close coordination with the clients representatives, contracted crews, and Orions internal safety management, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and safety awareness on-site.

Responsibilities and Functions Monitor all work areas to ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and regulations, focusing on confined spaces, hot work, and other high-risk activities.Serve as a hole watch/attendant for confined space entry, ensuring all entry, rescue, and atmospheric monitoring requirements are met, and unauthorized entry is prevented.Conduct routine and spot safety inspections, actively identify and report hazards or non-compliance issues; recommend immediate corrective actions where needed.Participate in or lead emergency response procedures and drills; assist in evacuations or medical emergencies until relieved by response teams.

Support the implementation of safety programs, initiatives, and on-site training by the company and client; help conduct or deliver toolbox talks and safety meetings as required.Assist in incident and near-miss investigations by collecting evidence, providing statements, and supporting root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.Enforce and verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE); educate personnel on required PPE for each task and inspect PPE for serviceability.

Communicate proactively and professionally with all employees, contractors, client representatives, and management to resolve safety observations and promote a culture of safety.Document safety activities, inspections, observations, and corrective actions in accordance with company/client policies; maintain accurate logs and records.Perform tasks under the direction of the clients representative, the clients safety and management team, and division/company management, maintaining dual compliance with both organizational and client site-specific procedures.Safely operate equipment and technology needed for safety monitoring, such as gas monitors and electronic reporting devices.Perform additional duties as assigned in support of continuous improvement and operational needs.
