Position Overview

An Accounting and Finance Intern will be given the opportunity to work with a vertically integrated company and experience multiple aspects of the business relative to Accounting.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


* Working with company staff to determine solutions to common issues.


* Review and approve batches related to job costing.


* Gain exposure to the business through projection meetings.


* Managing our Accounting shared mailbox in Outlook.


* Provide clerical support and assist staff with data entry, month-end closings, and reconciliations.

Other Requirements:


* Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.


* Must be willing to come into our Canton office once a week.


* Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.


* Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.


* Strict adherence to Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.


* Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.


* Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Company employees.

Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.


* Understanding knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


* Must have a strong desire to learn.

Education and Experience

Working towards a bachelor's or associate degree in accounting from a college or technical school.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
