The EHS Department provides internal consulting services, activities, actions and leadership in support of our company's continuous improvement in the areas of environment, health and safety.

It is expected that EHS will perform at the highest levels of professionalism and support the efforts of all levels of leadership.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


* Provide training, oversight and compliance support to all lines of business, facilities and construction operations.

This position is highly interactive with all levels of management within the Group.


* Assist in maintaining a high level of safety compliance and awareness at all Group locations through frequent, regular and ongoing site visits.

Utilize these site visits to collaborate with local mgmt.

and employees in addressing EHS issues and promoting Group safety philosophies, expectations, and personal responsibility.


* There is a strong emphasis on coaching all levels of management, supervisors, and employees toward observing, understanding and correcting behaviors and conditions that can lead to incidents.


* Assist the Group in their oversight of contractors, including qualification, insurance requirements and oversight of high-hazard work (i.e.

trenching & excavation, work at elevations, exposure to traffic, etc.)


* Conduct periodic audits of operations focused on safety compliance, correction of unsafe behaviors and conditions, documenting findings, setting appropriate timelines (with concurrence of local mgmt) , providing appropriate levels of support, and tracking audits to completion.


* Participate in safety pre-planning of large construction projects or work involving significant subcontractor presence.


* Assist in the coordination and facilitation of developing and sharing best practices throughout our facilities and construction operations.


* Support Safety/Event Learning Teams (SLT/ELT) and other safety problem-solving endeavors and develop future leaders of these teams so they can self-facilitate and perpetuate the learning process.


* Provide oversight and leadership in the area of our 5S program - Training, coaching, recommending, tracking.


* Assist management in their establishment of appropriate systems to procure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and appropriate safety supplies for specific tasks and activities.
